The A51 2020 From Samsung Reviewed

And with the smartphone mid-range segment getting even more saturated than ever, I believed it is timely to take a look at an example of a device that is selling in massive numbers over the globe, Samsung’s Galaxy A51. This phone a restrained but stylish design, the Galaxy A51 is loaded with quad rear camera setup, an AMOLED display with a centrally located punch-hole selfie snapper, and a glasstastick rear back.
Samsung's Galaxy A51 has been up for sale throughout Europe since February while the device went on sale in the United States in April 2020 and also is priced at the $399.99 price point.

Samsung Galaxy A51 Performance

Samsung's A51's AMOLED screen is great as we have come to expect from Samsung}, the colours really seem so bright and vibrant with the viewing planes are very good. And there is very little to whinge about apart from it’s a bit dull (but it's very legible) even when in sunlight and not conducive to viewing content on, even when you have the brightness turned up to 100%.
This when roadtesting top of the range smartphones like Oppo's Find X2 Pro 2020 the One Plus 8 can be a hindrance in developing a balanced perspective of what a middle range smartphone like this little device.
The processor won't compare to the flagship CPU in any way, and going from the former to the midrange chipset becomes a slap to the face until you see that this device is just a middle of the range smartphone and that these restrictions should be made.
You cannot help but notice that, this handset is laggy and slow upon occasion and I was sometimes left wondering whether the device had indeed recognised my contact or not when trying to open some app or share something.
And this is really a level of lag that I have not seen for many years, such as with base model phones that can be had for a measly £139.
As for the fingerprint scanner, I will just say that Samsung should have rather put it on the rear as I experienced a success about 50% when trying to unlock the handset then ending up typing the pin code.

Galaxy A51 Styling

With the plasticky rear panel, the Galaxy A51 doesn't look or feel like a mid-range phone, the plastic construction feels forgiving when in the hand because there are no sharp edges like you sometimes get on phones that have back panels made out of toughened glass.
This design element with the back panel is good and this adds some class to the A51. And Sometimes the branding on budget phones is a smidgen over the top, Samsung's logo has been modestly placed.
You see the presence of a centrally located punch-hole camera setup which, is made more prominent by what seems to be a metallic circle that attracts your eyes.
Serious audio fans will be happy in the fact that there's an audio connector located on the lower edge of the handset, with a USB-C charging port as well as the speaker's chamber.
At the top of the smartphone there's a single microphone and on the right-hand side there's a power switch and volume adjuster with a SIM tray on the reverse edge.
Overall it’s a neat if, inoffensive device that slides nicely into a normal pocket with ease.
